Our friends at Mokushozen-ji Bucharest held a one week seshin, and during the Zazen Night for Eka - one long night doing Zazen meditation - they invited us to hold and share Tea Ceremony. Our sensei, Gabriel Sooga Caciula offered Master Yvon Myoken Bec and the rest of the priests and practitioners, a Koicha (think tea, to help them during the over night practice) and Usucha (light tea). He performed Kazane Jawan and Kae Jawan, where he received help from his students. Tea practitioners tried also sitting meditation. Thank you all for this experience!

One of Rikyu's most well-known sayings is:
"Though many people drink tea,I am sure we will all read this, agree, and continue to remain eons apart in our understanding of what that means. There is a degree of beauty in the strangeness of this encounter with such a simple phrase. One way or another it shows the continuous danger we face while practicing tea.
if you do not know the Way of Tea,
tea will drink you up."

Tea in March
March is always as mad as a March Hare, especially when the poor rabbit thinks it must behave as if it is always tea time, for the Hatter murdered the time.We held Rikyuki, the celebration of Sen no Rikyu, and 423 years from his death. We had special guests, Mr. Adjunct Direcor of the National Museum of Art in Bucharest, and his wife. A hard, full seminar fallowed the event.
Had we not filled the week time with tea, tea events and again tea, as if there was nothing else left on the planet? What else to do, in the end? Nothing more basic and simpler than tea.

Chanoyu Demonstration at Urbanesc
Vinerea trecuta ne-am bucurat de o frumoasa si linistita seara la prietenii nostri de la Urbanesc, in compania domnului Gabriel Soga Caciula si a ajutoarelor sale, care ne-au transpus pentru cateva ore in delicata lume a ceaiului.
The event was organized by Fundatia Calea Victoriei and Chado Urasenke Tankokai Romania Luminis, together with the Chado Group of “Centrul de Studii Romano-Japoneze Angela Hondru".
